Today's Card Review is on Machamp from the Stormfront series. This is a Stage 2 Pokemon which a +30 weakness to Psychic Pokemon, no Resistance type, an average retreat cost of 2 colorless energies, and 130 HP. Machamp has no Poke-Powers/Bodies, but does have 3 very good attacks.
Its first attack for only one Fighting Energy is called Take Out, which does 40 damage, above-average for one energy. The effect of the attack, however, is where it really shines. It says if the defending Pokemon isn't evolved, they're knocked out rather than damaged! This is a great attack.
Its second, for 2 energies, is Hurricane Punch, it can do a whopping 120 damage, that is, if you get lucky. You flip 4 coins, and for each heads, it does 30 damage. This attack is alright, but if you get bad flips, you might end up with doing only 30 damage, or even none.
Its last attack, for 2 Fighting energies and 2 colorless, is called Rage. This attack's base damage is 60, and adds 10 more for each damage counter on Machamp.
As for strategy, I would pair this card with some Rare Candies, or the Broken Time-Space Stadium card, so you can get Machop to Machamp in one turn, and since it's probably the beginning of the match, use Take Out to knock out your opponent's Basic Pokemon!
Well, that's it for today's Card Review, stay tuned for tomorrow's!
