Today's Card Review is on Venusaur from the Secret Wonders series. Venusaur is a Stage 2 Pokemon with 130 HP, a +30 weakness to Fire-type Pokemon, no Resistance type, and a Retreat Cost of 3 colorless energies. Venusaur has one Poke-Power, and one attack.
Venusaur's Poke-Power, Miracle Aroma, is very good for wittling down your opponent's HP. It says once during your turn, flip a coin. If it's heads, choose between Asleep, Burned, or Poisoned, and the defending Pokemon has that special condition.
Venusaur's only attack for 2 Grass Energies and 1 Colorless energy, is called Giant Bloom. It does 60 damage, and you flip a coin. If heads, you take 40 damage off Venusaur! This lets him hang in there just a little longer.
For strategy, I would definitely pair this card up with either Toxicroak from Mysterious Treasures, or Heatran Lv. X, because their Poke-Bodies state that the defending Pokemon cannot get rid of Poisoned (Toxicroak) or Burn (Heatran). Also, special conditions can stack, so if you get lucky, you can get them Asleep, Poisoned, and Burned!
