Gengar (D&P)

Today's Card Review is on Gengar from the Diamond & Pearl series. Gengar is a Stage 2 Pokemon with 110 HP, a +30 weakness to Dark-type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to Normal-types, and a Retreat Cost of one Colorless Energy. Gengar has no Poke-Powers/Bodies, but does have 2 attacks.

Gengar's first move, for one Colorless Energy, is called Life Drain. This move is great for taking down high HP Pokemon. It lets you flip a coin, and if heads, you put the defending Pokemon down to 10 HP.

His second move compliments this very well, and can spread damage around. For two Psychic energies, and one Colorless energy, it is called Shadow Dance. This lets you put 4 damage counters on your opponent's Pokemon any way you like, then you switch Gengar with a Benched Pokemon. So you could either knock out the one you used Life Drain on, and focus damage on a benched Pokemon, or let another one knock it out.

For strategy, I would pair this up with Giratina Lv. X. You could bring the defending down to 10, then put damage on Benched Pokemon, switch over to Giratina and use Darkness Lost, put the 10 HP one to the Lost Zone, and really put damage on the others.

Well, that's it for today's Card Review, stay tuned for tomorrow's!
